International Cultural Days 2026 in Brussels
A Celebration of Friendship, Culture and International Understanding
From 26 to 30 May 2026, members of the International Association of Lyceum Clubs gathered in Brussels, Belgium, for the annual International Cultural Days, graciously hosted by the Belgian Federation of the Lyceum Club. The event brought together Lyceum members from across Europe and beyond, reaffirming the Association’s enduring commitment to international friendship, cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
The Cultural Days opened with a warm welcome in the heart of Brussels, where participants enjoyed a reception at the magnificent City Hall on the Grand Place. This historic setting provided an ideal beginning to several days of cultural discovery and renewed friendships among members representing many different countries.
The programme offered a rich variety of activities. Participants explored the historic and artistic treasures of Brussels through guided thematic walks, discovering both the city’s renowned landmarks and its lesser-known architectural gems. Optional excursions to Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent enabled members to experience the remarkable cultural heritage of Belgium, from medieval architecture and world-famous art collections to picturesque canals and vibrant city centres.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the elegant International Gala Evening held at the prestigious Egmont Palace. In a splendid atmosphere of friendship and celebration, members shared an unforgettable evening that reflected the spirit of the Lyceum Club—bringing together women of different cultures through dialogue, appreciation of the arts and international cooperation.
Beyond the cultural programme, the event provided valuable opportunities for members to strengthen existing friendships, establish new international connections and exchange ideas for future cooperation between Lyceum Clubs. The Cultural Days once again demonstrated that the Lyceum Club continues to build bridges across borders through culture, education and friendship.
During the closing celebrations, it was officially announced that the 2027 International Cultural Days will be hosted by the Federation of Cyprus, and members warmly welcomed the invitation to gather once again for another memorable international meeting.
The International Cultural Days in Brussels beautifully reflected the founding ideals of the Lyceum Club: promoting cultural understanding, encouraging intellectual exchange and fostering lasting friendships among women from around the world.
