Greetings from ancient country-Georgia.
My name is Sofi Etsadashvili and I am from the country which is located between the Black & Caspian seas.,with amazing landscape and mountains.
Since 2000 I work on Georgian cloisonné enamel, creating jewelry with national motives and modern design at the same time. The main inspiration, while creating works is Georgian national clothes, its details, alphabet and traditional ornaments which enriches Georgian culture so much. Even when I work on modern design, I use the lines and shapes of Georgian ornaments.Modernising old thematic is main goal for me and I consider that, each piece of jewelry must represent its era.Despite my works having natonal motives, they perfectly fit modern clothes. I love creating massive brooches and often use natural stones in my jewelry which have a lot of energy and positive effect during the work process. And sometimes, the shape of the stone determines the design of the whole composition.
My source of inspiration is also the museum collection of Georgian antique and medieval jewelry, which is preserved in the Golden Fund of Georgian National Museum. Most of the times in my work I recreate my own hand drawn sketches.Horses are also source of inspiration and I often create miniatures using these motives.
All of my works are unisex and for bold,self-confident people. My works are in possession of many famous people:top models, ambassadors of various countries, princes,Fanny Ardant and so on… This really warms my hearts and motivates me. Also I’m actively participating in the world enamel exhibitions and my art works are included in the catalogs of international enamel biennials.
I always say that quality is top priority in my works.
