Silence and Beyond In the noisy background of global conflicts and the accelerating flow of reliable or false information, both silence and breaking the silence are powerful, alternating forms of response. The first is a precondition with the potential for resistance, a kind of static state. The second is established when a bifurcation point is reached. This is a dynamic, irreversible state. The exhibition of Georgian women artists “Silence and Beyond” shows silence not as emptiness but as a pause, a moment of breathing in a noisy stream. On the other hand, the exhibition shares with us the breaking of silence as an action of struggle for development. The transition from silence to voice symbolizes the journey from being unable to speak to finding and expressing truth, as a process of personal and collective evolution, moving from brokenness or isolation to clarity and presence, the ongoing effort to overcome silencing forces, signaling the emotion shift from restraint to release, reflecting the richness and fullness of expression, symbolizing the act of speaking out, resisting, and reclaiming power, representing the individual’s or community’s willingness to engage with the world. The paintings, drawings and jewelry reflect the powerful stories of Georgian women, depicting struggles, triumphs, and unspoken emotions. Paintings, both figurative and abstract, as well as jewelry, could be seen as representations of a woman’s internal emotional landscape – the process of finding her voice, reclaiming it, and expressing her truth to the world. Each piece captures a moment in this journey, creating an intimate, raw connection with the viewer. “Beyond Silence” would challenge viewers to reconsider the boundaries of what is often left unsaid and instead offer a platform for personal and collective narratives. Exhibition explores how Georgian women have found ways to break free from limitations. Silence transforms into something powerful, palpable – something that is released, expressed, and celebrated.
